Macallan Exceptional Cask 1988 #3890

Part of the pretigious Exceptional Single Cask series from The Macallan, this incredible single cask release was distilled in 1988 and matured for 30 years in an American oak sherry butt. Bottled in July 2018 a natural cask strength of 51.7% abv, just 130 bottles were produced from cask #3890.

The nose is lightly peated and has fresh ginger and an array of wood spices, vanilla and raisins. The peat continues in the palate, followed by a burst of citrus and a kick of spice and fresh ginger. The spice lingers on in the finish, and makes for a warming aftertaste.
